Kitchens and bathrooms

Questions

Asked and answered

Do you do electrical work on its own, or only as part of a build?

Both. A lot of it comes with the building work, but we also take on stand-alone rewires, board changes, lighting and outside power in the Croydon and South East London area.

How disruptive is a rewire?

More than people expect. Chasing walls, lifting floors and skirtings means dust and mess, so a full rewire is far easier in an empty house or as part of a wider renovation. A partial rewire can usually be worked around.

Do I get certificates for the work?

Yes. Notifiable work is certified and the paperwork comes to you at the end. Keep it, because it is the first thing asked for when a house is sold or let.

Can you plan the lighting for an open plan kitchen?

Yes, and it is worth doing at first fix rather than after the plastering. Zoned circuits, dimming and getting the downlights off the centre of the island are the three things that make the biggest difference.

Can you wire in a media wall or fitted storage?

That is exactly the kind of job where doing the joinery and the electrics together pays off. Cable routes, power and data are designed into the piece in the workshop rather than drilled through it on site.
