What is included

Every piece of joinery, covered

Made in our workshop

Not ordered in and assembled on site. Carcasses, doors and mouldings are made for your room, which is why they fit a Victorian wall that is out of square by 20mm.

Fitted wardrobes and storage

Full height wardrobes, eaves drawers, understairs storage and boot rooms, planned around what you actually need to put in them.

Media walls and bookcases

Recessed televisions, hidden cable runs, integrated lighting and shelving that lines through with the room rather than sitting on top of it.

Staircases

New staircases and staircase renovations, including winders, oak treads, glass balustrade and traditional spindle work.

Matching period detail

Skirting, architrave, panelling and cornice profiles copied from what is already in the house, so new work does not announce itself.

Sprayed or hand finished

Painted, sprayed or finished in oil and lacquer, with the finish decided by how the piece is going to be used rather than by what is quickest.

Questions

Asked and answered

Do you make the joinery yourselves?

Yes. We have our own workshop, and the wardrobes, staircases, media walls and storage are made in it. The same team that makes a piece is the team that fits it, which is why there is nobody to blame when a scribe does not sit right.

Can you match existing woodwork in an older house?

Usually. Skirting, architrave and panelling profiles can be run to match what is there, and where a moulding is unusual we can copy it from a section you take off. This is standard on Victorian and Edwardian houses around Croydon.

How long does a fitted wardrobe or media wall take?

Normally two to four weeks from the measure to the fit, depending on how busy the workshop is and what the finish is. The fit itself is usually one to three days in the house.

Do I need drawings before you can price it?

No. We come and measure, talk through what you want it to do, and come back with a price and a sketch of what it will look like. Nothing goes into the workshop until you are happy with the drawing.

Can joinery be done on its own, without building work?

Yes. Plenty of our joinery jobs are stand-alone: a bookcase wall, a staircase, a run of wardrobes. You do not need to be having an extension to get us in.
